Wearing spirit gear is an important part of the school spirit process that enriches student’s lives. When students wear specified spirit gear, they are telling the other students and faculty in the school that they respect going to that particular school and that they support it. It is a rock-solid way to communicate what is in a student’s heart; by showing their school spirit and encouragement with what they wear. Spirit gear can range from a multitude of different clothing choices; from sweatshirts with the schools logo on it, to wearing a t-shirt that includes the schools colors. Students show their school spirit by wearing logo hats, socks, wristbands, and even shoes and headbands. Wearing spirit gear is a great way for students and faculty to show allegiance to the school that they attend or work at.

Many schools are now doing spirit day or spirit week to bring the students of the school closer together. It is common in elementary schools to pick a certain day or an entire week to have the students as well as the faculty don spirit gear. This is an exciting time for the entire school campus, because during spirit week, there are usually games and assemblies as well as other events that relish in the idea that everyone supporting the same idea, together! The idea of spirit day or spirit week excites the students of the school and there is an air of fun and happiness all around the campus. It builds confidence in students to support the school that they attend, and it builds a great foundation towards a positive life to believe in something, and outwardly show support for what they believe in!

Show your support for the school that you attend or work at by wearing something that visibly shows you back up your school. Spirit gear is an interesting way to say a lot, without the use of violence or any type of negativity. Students love to dress up and celebrate and there should always be a reason or greater goal behind this celebration. Supporting your school is a great way to celebrate the day or the entire week!
